Taxi's and Ferrys and Stairs - OH MY!

So, here is the never ending story of our experience getting from Barcelona to our apartment in Florence. Enjoy!
Short Version:
Barcelona - Taxi from hotel to Port
Taxi from wrong port to right port
Small car ride (from security guard) directly INTO the back of the ferry
Waited in the ferry for 2 hours before it left the port
Slept for 12 hours
Missed lunch - instead had chips, coffee, pastry, chocolate chips, crasins, almonds, granola bar
Ferry finally docked after 20 hours, around 9pm
1 hour taxi ride to Florence
Taxi driver is lost for 45 minutes
Arrive at our apartment with no way to get in around 11:30 pm
Try to call everyone who can possibly help us get into our apartment
No luck.
Taxi from our locked apartment to our Florence contact's apartment in the city center
Haul ALL our luggage up around 70 stone steps
Ready to pass out due to lack of substantial food and water
Walk to a Doner Kebab place to get a delicious Turkish Kebab around 1:30 AM
Sleep a few hours at Daniele's
Walk to school
Walk from school to Daniele's apartment to get our luggage
Taxi from Daniele's to our apartment
Meet our land lady and find out our apartment IS as big as described!
